Mines student receives FIRST® Robotics Scholarship

GOLDEN, Colo., Oct. 14, 2013 –Colorado School of Mines student David Long was awarded one of 40 individual scholarships of $1,000 from the Raytheon-FIRST® Robotics Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded to FIRST Robotics alumni who intend to study science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) majors in college.

Recipients must be high school seniors or full-time college freshmen, sophomores or juniors who participated in a FIRST Robotics Competition or were a member of a FIRST Tech Challenge team.

Raytheon supports 30 teams each year in the FIRST Robotics Competition and Tech Challenge. This year, scholarships were awarded to students from 23 different states.
