Melissa Anderson '15 and Mining Engineering Graduate Student Sam Lolon were recently selected as part of Young Leaders Committee of SME (Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration).
"The program was very selective and we were so grateful and honored to be the reps from Mines," Lolon said. "We would like to encourage other students to get actively involved in the same or similar programs in their own professional organizations."
Anderson added, "the Young Leaders Committee is helping me stay connected with SME after college and prepare for potential leadership positions in the other SME committees and sections, as well as networking with other people and receiving mentoring from other SME members."
