Colorado School of Mines scores Colorado Rockies 2016 non-profit partner position

GOLDEN, CO, April 21, 2016 — Colorado School of Mines has been named as the Colorado Rockies 2016 non-profit partner. For every home run hit by the Colorado Rockies this season at Coors Field, the Xcel Energy Foundation will give $200 (up to $20,000) to the Colorado School of Mines Foundation to help prepare the nation’s leading minds to solve our most complex global earth, energy and environmental challenges.

“The Xcel Energy Foundation has supported the Multicultural Engineering Program at Mines over the last five years and wants to recognize their important work,” said Kynnie Martin, senior foundation representative at Xcel Energy. “Having met the most recent class, it is clear that every student in the program appreciates the opportunity, and takes advantage of everything the program and staff have to offer.”

Xcel Energy will present a check to Colorado School of Mines on the field before one of the last home games in September.
