GOLDEN, Colo., Feb. 26, 2014 – Last month, physics graduate student Thomas Brenner was awarded an Alternative Sustainable Energy Research Initiative fellowship to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, for two years.
“I'm really excited to be able to investigate a very quickly emerging solar cell material that my host group at the Weizmann is currently studying,” Brenner said. “Within the last five years, researchers have made gains in efficiency with this new material that took decades of research for previous materials.”
A third year of funding will cover research at an institution of his choice, which Brenner intends to be one in the U.S. Currently Brenner is finishing up his doctorate in solar cell research, which he will continue when he moves abroad in the summer.
