GOLDEN, Colo., March 31, 2014 – The Hennebach Program in the Humanities and the Nature and Human Values (NHV) faculty will host Howard Goldblatt, April 7, from 7-8:30 p.m. in Friedhoff Hall in the Green Center.
Goldblatt has translated more than 30 works of contemporary Chinese fiction, including Mo Yan (2012 Nobel Laureate for Literature). Goldblatt was formerly Research Professor at the University of Notre Dame, where he directed the Center for Asian Studies.
Liberal Arts and International Studies professor Carl Mitcham and the NHV faculty will be interviewing Goldblatt to give the audience a preview of his experience and career.
“The conversation with Dr. Goldblatt will be wide ranging, covering not only the exciting development of creativity in China today but also the political, economic, scientific, and technological developments currently taking place there,” Mitcham said.
The event is free to the public, but attendants are encouraged to RSVP.
