Mines to grant discounted tuition rates to graduate students from 16 Western states

Non-resident students from across the West will receive a lower tuition rate for 50+ graduate programs.

Beginning this fall, students from 16 Western states and territories will receive reduced tuition when enrolling in more than 50 on-campus graduate degree programs and graduate certificate programs at Colorado School of Mines.

This new program is a result of Mines’ participation in the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) of the Western Interstate Commission of Higher Education (WICHE). This will allow residents of Western states and territories to receive significantly discounted tuition and make Mines more competitive with other institutions for students who are not Colorado residents.

"We're excited to be able to add a significant number of new programs to this long-standing consortium that makes it more affordable for students from the Western U.S. to enroll at Mines," said Tim Barbari, Dean of Graduate Studies. "We want students from across the region, and across economic backgrounds, enrolled in our programs. Mines programs are among the world's best, and they offer students the opportunity to grow in their field and their careers."
