Mines wins first RMAC All-Sports Competition Cup

GOLDEN, Colo., May 15, 2012 – For the first time in school history, the Colorado School of Mines Department of Athletics has claimed the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Sports Competition Cup.

"This award is a testament to very great student-athletes that the Colorado School of Mines has the opportunity to attract," said Director of Athletics Tom Spicer. "This is also a testament to the hard work and determination of our fine coaches and staff that work with these student-athletes to help them accomplish their goals and personal bests. We had 13 of our 18 programs qualify for some form of postseason play during this past academic year and this is truly a great opportunity for us to celebrate our student-athletes and our institution. We look forward to doing it again next year."

Mines claimed three RMAC regular season titles in men’s basketball, softball and men’s golf, while volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, men’s cross country and men’s golf all qualified for their respective NCAA Tournaments.
