Why did you choose to come to Mines? What have you enjoyed most about being here?

Mines was always one of my top choices. I love colorado and the energy at Mines—it is a unique school that makes me feel valued and respected as a student. Mines has opened so many doors for me, the faculty are amazing and have really helped me learn and grow into a better and well-rounded person.

Tell us about something you're working on right now that you find exciting, fulfilling or challenging.

I am working in some start-ups where I get to apply all of the knowledge I have accumulated in my time at Mines. The start-ups put me to the test but the training I got from Mines has helped me rise to the challenge with confidence.

Have you done an internship or co-op or been in a professional job while at Mines? Tell us who you worked for and what you were doing. What stands out?

I have done a few internships and founded a company with a partner although it was short-lived. I also work for a medical device company that is on the cutting edge of medical technology. I really enjoy being at the forefront of innovation, it is exciting.

What communities, groups or organizations—on- and off-campus—are important to you and why?

I was a part of CS@Mines Outreach program and I really enjoyed my time with them. The goal is to help educate children in the computer science field. I really learned a lot about teaching and computer science. I also played ultimate frisbee which was a blast!

What would you tell someone interested in joining your academic program or Mines in general?

The computer science program at Mines is unmatched. The faculty help and believe in the students and are dedicated to their work. By joining Mines you will find a unique culture and a welcoming community that builds strong and lasting relationships.

What's your favorite thing to do outside of class and coursework? How do you unwind, manage stress, find fulfillment, etc.?

Work out and get outside!
