People make the difference at Mines: 2024 Impact Report

Mines Impact Report Fall 2024

Mines launched the MINES@150 Strategic Plan and the Campaign for MINES@150 in 2016 with big aspirations that would require strengthening affinity for Mines among our students, faculty and staff, alumni and external partners. It would also require significant private investment to support the university’s key initiatives, including scholarships, program support and new facilities that will help deliver present and future possibilities.

As of Dec. 31, 2024, individuals, foundations and companies have invested a remarkable $541 million in those initiatives. We are celebrating this significant accomplishment by sharing stories about donors, programs and people in the Fall 2024 Campaign Impact Report. Their gifts are as varied as the donors themselves:

  • Building Mines’ unparalleled Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ecosystem
  • Orbital Mining Corp., an alumni-founded company that has taken off using resources from the E&I Ecosystem
  • A crowdfunded scholarship created to celebrate the life of Ben Cole ‘22
  • A corporate scholarship that has changed the life of a first-generation student
  • The Vallejo-Irvine Program for Professional Development, established by Mines alumni
  • The Future Energy Scholars Program, supported by Mines alumni
  • The impact Mines is making in international communities thanks to a donor-supported travel fund
  • An alum uses her Mines master’s and PhD degree to make an impact in Mineral & Energy Economics
