Kelsie Merchant, Mines President of the Residence Hall Association (RHA), nominated Craig for her unique bulletin boards and participation in RHA’s program, Walk to Aware.
“Shannon has given so much to her community. Staff and residents can see that the community she has created on her floor is not just a fulfillment of any job requirements or simple additions of programs but a reflection of both the home Shannon has allowed her residents to help create and the passion Shannon has for residence life,” Merchant wrote in her nomination.
Any University RA, member of the RHA or professional staff can submit nominations. Mines regional organization, Intermountain Association of College and University Residence Halls, which is overseen by the NACURH, selects the award recipients each month.
Other nominees included environmental engineering student Carmella Caltagirone, the Elm Hall staff and Study Date social program.
