Van Tyne elected Fellow of the ASM International Society

Professor Chester J. Van Tyne (MME) has been elected Fellow of the ASM International Society. The honor of Fellow represents recognition of his distinguished contributions in the field of materials science and engineering, and develops a broadly based forum for technical and professional leaders to serve as advisors to the Society. His citation reads: "For significant contributions to understanding effects of processing and microstructure on the plastic deformation behavior of steels and nickel-based alloys in metal forming manufacturing processes."

Snieder receives award from Alexander von Humboldt foundation

Professor Roel Snieder (GP) received a research award from the Alexander von Humboldt foundation. He was lauded for his “seminal work on seismic interferometry paved the way for a new branch of exciting techniques and applications that opened up the diffuse part of the elastic wave field for systemic analysis.”
