GOLDEN, Colo., Sept. 8, 2014 – On Sept. 9, 230 companies will be on campus for Career Day to meet with more than 3,000 students and alumni at the largest collegiate career fair in Colorado and Mines’ history.

Industries including petroleum, renewable energy, mining, engineering and aerospace will be in attendance, but visitors will see 40 new companies this year representing biotech, automotive and robotics. Eighty companies requested to be put on a waiting list.

“Mines students’ reputation around the world continues to grow,” said Jean Manning-Clark, director of the Colorado School of Mines Career Center. “They are valued by employers for their passion and strong work ethic.”

In the two days following Career Day, Mines will be hosting more than 1,200 on-campus interviews with Mines students and employers.

In 2013, Mines undergraduates earned an average salary of $67,055 and graduates one of $77,116. Job placement outcomes for 2014 graduates will be available from the Career Center in late September.

Mines was recently ranked top engineering school in the U.S. by College Factual, and reported by USA TODAY College and The Denver Post.
