The national honor recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The keynote speaker at the undergraduate ceremonies will be Jesus Salazar ‘01 MS ‘02, chairman of the Mines Board of Trustees and co-founder and CEO of Prosono.
U.S. Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland visited the Mines campus Feb. 18 to announce the selection of Mines for the new energy and minerals research facility along with members of Colorado's Congressional delegation.
"These rankings confirm something that we strongly believe in: Colorado School of Mines is place where you can change your future and your family’s future,” Mines President Paul. C. Johnson said.
Mines conferred a total of 284 bachelor’s degrees during the in-person ceremony at Lockridge Arena on Dec. 17, 2021.
Undergraduate Commencement will kick off the day’s festivities at 9 a.m. in Lockridge Arena. Graduate Commencement will follow at 2 p.m. in the same location.
The Mines Academy at Red Rocks will provide qualified RRCC students with guaranteed admission into any four-year degree program at Colorado School of Mines upon completion of a two-year Associate of Engineering Science degree.
John Trefny, the 15th president of Colorado School of Mines and professor emeritus of physics, has been named a 2021 Sigma Xi Fellow.
Prior to the public launch, $226 million has already been raised in lead gifts and privately funded research grants in support of the university’s MINES@150 strategic plan.
Mines students began moving into the apartment-style residence hall Aug.1 in advance of the first day of fall classes on Aug. 24.
